21 Dec 2022

Responding to the the news that asylum seekers staying at the National Hotel in Muswell Hill are being removed by the Home Office, Councillor Nick da Costa (LD-Highgate), Haringey Opposition Spokesperson for Communities, said:
“Haringey Liberal Democrats condemn the removal of asylum seekers staying at the National Hotel in Muswell Hill to the Napier Barracks - where shocking conditions were ruled as unlawful by the High Court just last year. We stand together with the council and with Haringey Welcome in calling for the Home Office to reconsider this decision and allow these people to stay where they can feel supported and welcomed.”
