Consultations are due to begin on the reduction of speed limits on a number of Transport for London-owned roads around the borough. Local Lib Dems have been pushing for this for several years, and are pleased these consultations are going ahead. Evidence shows that people are far less likely to be killed or seriously injured in a collision at 20mph than they are at 30mph.

The roads being consulted on will be:

  • Cherry Tree - Great North Road: From Archway Road to borough boundary
  • Colney Hatch Lane: Muswell Hill to borough boundary
  • Ferry Lane: Broad Lane to borough boundary
  • Fortis Green: Muswell Hill Broadway to borough boundary
  • Green Lanes: Turnpike Lane to borough boundary
  • Lordship Lane: High Road N17 to High Road N22 / entire length except for small section of red route at junction of Bruce Grove
  • Muswell Hill: from Muswell Hill Roundabout to junction of Park Road/Crouch End
  • Priory Road: From junction of Park Road/Crouch End to High Street (N8) Junction with Middle Lane
  • The Roundway: Lordship Lane to A10 The Roundway (Red Route)
  • Westbury Avenue: High Road N22 to Lordship Lane including Boreham Road
