Councillors win bus stop battle!
For over a year, Lib Dem councillors have been campaigning for the Cranley Gardens Bus Stop (towards Archway) on Muswell Hill Road to be moved, as local people in wheelchairs were unable to use this stop. Recently the council and Transport for London have listened to the Lib Dems calls and moved the stop.
Lib Dem councillor for Muswell Hill, Gail Engert, comments:
“Buses had been unable to deploy their ramp at the site of the previous bus stop, making it impossible for those with mobility difficulties to get on and off the bus. Getting this bus stop moved was especially important for the residents of nearby Cranley Dene Court which is a Council Sheltered Housing scheme located just by the bus stop.
“Following this success, the Lib Dems have written to the Council with a further request to relocate the litter bin at this stop, so it will be even easier to get off the bus.”
Cranley Dene resident Wally Austin, comments:
“About bloody time the council moved the stop! It is a big improvement and makes the bus stop a lot easier to use now. My wife and I are very glad it has been moved.”
