Liberal Democrats select ex-Haringey councillor as Hermitage & Gardens candidate
Haringey Liberal Democrats have selected local resident and former Haringey councillor Paul Dennison as their candidate for the forthcoming Hermitage & Gardens by-election. Paul wants to speak up for residents to ensure the community are heard loud and clear on issues such as the St Ann’s Hospital construction and the out of control use of Finsbury Park for private events.
As a former councillor his experience and knowledge makes him best placed to tackle key issues in the area such as the rubbish on our streets; poor housing conditions, often with damp and mould; anti-social behaviour and crime.
The by-election will be held on 29th June after the death of Labour councillor Julie Davies. Hermitage & Gardens and its predecessor wards have elected Labour councillors at every election since 1968.
In response to his selection, Paul Dennison, Liberal Democrat candidate for Hermitage & Gardens, said:
“Both as a resident and as an ex-councillor in Haringey, I have seen first-hand what mouldy, cramped, unsafe housing does to someone’s life. I experience daily the state of our streets. I know how years of neglect by a self-serving Council under-delivers for our neighbourhoods.
“That is why I am standing as your Lib Dem candidate for the Hermitage & Gardens by-election. I have a real understanding of residents’ concerns and as a previous Haringey councillor I have the experience to make a real difference. I promise to be a local, hard-working champion, getting things done for the area.”
