Local Councillors Push TfL to resolve ongoing issues at Highgate Station

Highgate Liberal Democrat Councillors are aware that the ongoing issues with the escalator at Highgate tube station have been a source of frustration for many residents. They have heard from residents about the impact this breakdown is having, particularly on those with mobility challenges, parents with young children, and commuters navigating busy rush hours.
They have been in constant communication with both the Highgate station staff and Transport for London (TfL) area representatives to expedite the repair. Unfortunately, they have been informed that the delay is due to a specific part required for the fix, which took a long time to arrive. At this stage, with the expected finish date having passed, TfL has advised them that repairs could take several more weeks.
The local staff seem to have little information on this and seem as frustrated as everyone else. Lib Dems are not happy with this delay and have been actively pressing TfL to prioritise this issue, highlighting the burden it places on the community.
However, the issue with lighting on the passageway leading up from the Priory Gardens exit has also been sent to TfL, who manage the passageway, and is due for repair in the next 10 days.
