Notice of planning applications to end

HLD

Labour-run Haringey Council is scrapping letters informing local residents about planning applications near their home.

Previously, residents would normally receive a letter saying that a planning application had been made nearby. From 1 September the Labour-run council will only be sending these letters to ‘directly involved parties’ (usually people within the same building), and not to nearby neighbours and people in the surrounding areas.

Instead, Labour councillors expect residents to hunt around looking for notices on lamp posts or research themselves, to see if there are any planning applications which may affect them.

The Liberal Democrats are disappointed that the Labour-run council is once again failing to make sure residents are kept informed.

Locals can register to receive notifications about planning applications via either the Haringey website, using this link or via the Haringey Notiz mobile app for Apple iOS or Android devices. We recommend that you use one of these options to remain informed.
