Post Offices in Muswell Hill & Crouch End could close if a private franchisee is not found
Post Offices in Crouch End and Muswell Hill are now being put forward for private franchises and if no franchisee is found to take them on, there is a danger the post offices could close.
Haringey Lib Dems have asked for an urgent meeting with the Post Office to discuss the plans. The Liberal Democrat councillors are very keen to ensure that Haringey does not lose any post offices and that there is no loss of services.
Cllr Gail Engert, Haringey Lib Dem Leader of the Opposition comments:
“The Lib Dems are concerned about the Post Office plans for Muswell Hill and Crouch End. We have asked the Post Office for an urgent meeting to discuss their proposals. We have made it clear to them that we must keep post offices in both areas. We also expect them to provide the same services as now, with the same or better opening hours.
“The Liberal Democrats will be pushing the post office to ensure we do not lose post offices in Muswell Hill and Crouch End, which provide very important services to local people.”
