Rhodes Avenue school street not planned until 2024/25

HLD

Despite campaigning from Alexandra Park Lib Dems, Haringey Council has confirmed that no school street is planned for Rhodes Avenue Primary until the 2024/25 financial year. Liberal Democrats have successfully pressured the council to implement more school streets around the borough, but Rhodes Avenue is not one of the schools which Haringey has prioritised.

In the mean time, Lib Dem councillor for Alexandra Park, Alessandra Rossetti, has requested the installation of a 'no idling' sign on the road.

Cllr Alessandra Rossetti, Liberal Democrat councillor for Alexandra Park, said:

"This is clearly a missed opportunity from the council, and another example of the disjointed and piecemeal approach they are taking to our roads. Consultations on traffic measures such as the proposed Alexandra Palace North LTN, and new crossings on Durnsford Road and Albert Road are coming forward, and including a Rhodes Avenue school street in these plans would have made complete sense."
